14th July 2025 – Darlington, Western Australia
Wow! Shelley and I have just had the most amazing 30 minute-long sighting of the most beautiful Lightship that had continuously changing multi-coloured lights. We were driving back home around 8:25pm from a birthday dinner, and were only about a street away when we both saw the bright red and green lights of an object in the sky through the trees, quite close over Glen Forrest in the Perth hills of Western Australia. We could not see any strobe lights and it appeared to be stationary, so we were both feeling that this was a Lightship, rather than a plane. We were really keen to get home quickly and grab the cameras! I rushed inside and grabbed my Sony A7R with 135mm zoom lens, as well as my Sony DSC-RX100 VA. I didn’t even check the settings on my A7R camera and just wanted to get some good close-up shots of this beautiful, silently hovering Lightship that was visible above the trees over our neighbouring suburb.
The first shot ended up being a very long exposure and I didn’t hold the camera very still, so it’s showing an interesting coloured light trail! But it does demonstrate very nicely how the Lightship was continuously changing its colours:
I decided to switch the camera to video and was able to record a 2 minute video until the battery went flat! I had not yet charged the camera battery after we got back recently from a short winter holiday in the south-west of WA. I’ve taken several portions of this first video and used the Davinci Resolve video-editing program to zoom in 8x and slow down the speed to 30% to show this beautiful Lightship and its mesmerising colour changes more clearly:
I then switched to my Sony DSC-RX100 VA camera and took lots of photos followed by 5 videos. After about 10 minutes of filming I felt the urge to get a better look at this Lightship with my binoculars, and the sight was spectacular! I couldn’t make out a distinct shape of the ship, but its coloured lights were aligned in a row and were continuously changing colours producing a mesmerising colour show.

5th December 2025 – Darlington, Western Australia
A beautiful mild summer evening with everything lit up in the silvery light from the full moon. Shelley and I watched the moving lights of a number of satellites traversing the evening sky. Then around 8:45pm a very bright, beautiful gold-coloured ship traversed the sky almost directly over our heads. We were quite mesmerised, and I watched it through binoculars until it faded as it travelled towards the north-east.
I got out my Sony A7R camera with 135mm Samyang lens and took a small series of photos at 8:56pm of another very bright lightship travelling towards the east, this time with a distinct aqua-blue colour. Our understanding/feeling is that this is an Agarthan ship. I have enhanced six consecutive images of it and put them together in a collage:
13th December 2025 – Hacketts Gully, Western Australia
A beautiful clear evening and we decided to go for a drive around Mundaring Weir, as the sky is nice and dark there, away from the Perth city lights. There were lots of people gathered there, presumably to get a glimpse of the 3I/ATLAS interstellar object, as well as the Geminids meteor shower, widely regarded as the finest meteor shower visible from the southern hemisphere, active for about 2 weeks and peaking on 14th December. We didn’t stay at the Weir with so many people there, so we decided to continue our leisurely drive along Mundaring Weir Road and stopped at a spot that had a nice view over Hackett Gully.
Around 10:33 pm we spotted a Lightship moving towards the east that gave us a beautiful bright power-up and I took a series of photos of it, shown here:
15th December 2025 – Darlington, Western Australia
Another beautifully calm, warm, moonless summer evening. Just a shame about the mosquitoes being a nuisance. Shelley and I like to go out on to our veranda after about 8:30 pm to see if there is any movement, flashes or light streaks in the night sky from Lightships/Star family saying hello. Looking up at exactly 9 pm we spotted a bright gold-coloured Lightship travelling north-east over our heads. I took a series of 13 photos of this ship, which I have turned into a short video here:
